Proud Learners from the Beginners Watercolour Workshop 1st Aug 2015

Despite the poor weather conditions on the outside, it was a great day in the workroom at Cartwheels Craft Centre this Saturday (1st Aug 2015), on the Beginners Watercolour Workshop, attended by 6 new learners.

After plenty of useful tips about materials and equipment etc…, we knuckled down to painting a typical moorland scene local to Cartwheels.

Step by step demonstration of the image was explained at each stage, from a ‘wet in wet’ Sky to ‘wet on dry’ Landscape and Buildings, followed by dry brush work in the foreground area, with some splattering to finish it off.

July 2015 (125)

To follow, we changed the scene to a simple seascape, in less than 45 mins they had completed their painting.

Using just 3 colours, with the use of some masking fluid for the figures, and some dry brush work, they finished it with superb results.

The workshop ran over time as it usually does due to my over planned schedule, finishing up with some Cling Film and Salt Work textural exercises.

And here are some of the proud learners from the day, holding up there finished paintings.

P1130217Well Done to you all that attended this workshop, I hope to see you again very soon.
